Why volunteer?

Volunteering is more than just giving back. It is a chance to build confidence, learn practical skills, boost your wellbeing, and meet new people. You might even discover a hidden passion or a new career path!
If you are not sure where to begin, we provide coaching and support to help you take that first step. Your time and dedication enable us to make a real difference, and even just an hour a week can have a meaningful impact on your local community.
People volunteer for all kinds of reasons:
  • To support causes they care about
  • To connect with their community
  • Or simply because it feels good to help
With over 22 million people volunteering each year - and 96% saying they enjoy it - why not give it a try?

We offer different types of volunteering to suit your lifestyle

There is no set amount of time you should volunteer. As you are donating your time, you can choose how much or how little you would like to share.

Micro Volunteering

Bite-sized volunteering that is quick, flexible and usually done in short bursts, such as taking part in a community litter pick.

Short-term volunteering

Opportunities that last a few hours to a few weeks, usually project-based or event-focused, such as helping at a weekend fundraiser.

Long-term volunteering

Ongoing commitments that take place weekly or monthly over several months, such as helping in a charity shop or being a regular mentor.
